Sweden. This "Selenus" set came from a Swedish collector and has all Swedish names underneath most of the white pieces. In auction described as Danish, but bishops and rooks are uncommon for Danish sets. And those bishops are seen on other sets from Sweden. I love the delicate form of the pieces and think it is the most beautiful Selenus set there is. At least in my collection. The set was dated 1840 at auction, but I think it could be much older, about 1800. The box/board, simulating 2 parts of a dictionary, is of English origin and not that impressive or old.
